The FAQ's of Being a Licensed Referral Agent in New Jersey

Licensed New Jersey Referral agents can earn income by referring business to actively licensed sales associates. When the sales associate assigned to the referral successfully completes a home sale, or purchase, the referral agent will earn a percentage of the sales associate’s commission. No, you are not required to take Continuing Education (CE) classes; however, should a decision be made to transfer to an active New Jersey real estate sales associate status, CE credits must be completed prior to the transfer taking place.

KL Referral Associates has annual dues of $100 which are collected in January each year. This fee is partially pro-rated to $75 for agents that join KL Referral Associates July 1st or later in the given year.

There is also a nominal fee for transferring and renewing a license (per the State of New Jersey); however, unlike full time real estate sales associates, there are no Board fees, MLS fees or E&O insurance expenses.

Yes! While our dedicated team is happy to make a recommendation and / or make the selection of the appropriate agent to serve the buyer or seller, we are always happy to assign the lead to an agent that you designate.

For leads in the central and northern New Jersey areas, we will initially draw upon the agents at Kienlen Lattmann Sotheby’s International Realty. Should your referral be based outside of the Kienlen Lattmann Sotheby’s International Realty market area, KL Referral Associates will place the referral with other brokers, either in the Sotheby’s International Realty global network or beyond.
